Challenge
How does Facebook keep users aware product updates and announcements for each of their products under a singular platform and design language?
Approach
Facebook sought to streamline its business-facing communications by consolidating multiple platforms into a single, cohesive resource. Instrument partnered with Facebook to redesign Facebook Business News, creating a centralized hub for businesses to explore and leverage Facebook's ad products. This involved introducing Ensemble, a new design language that unifies Facebook's business-facing properties and provides content writers with the tools to craft compelling stories. The redesigned platform offers a simplified and streamlined experience, presenting content from across Facebook's brands and inspiring businesses to create top-tier ad creative.
Impact
I played a key role in designing a platform that brings together content from all of Facebook's brands into a single cohesive experience. To enhance the reading experience, I helped develop a wide range of text-based and visual components as part of the editorial platform design system, enabling diverse storytelling across various topics. I also played a crucial role in standardizing Ensemble, a new design system that unifies Facebook's business-facing brands. Through extensive prototyping, I refined the user experience, ensuring intuitive and seamless interactions. Additionally, I contributed to comprehensive documentation, guaranteeing the design system's longevity and adaptability.
